Bananacracy.
ABOUT

Start as a nobody. Earn a country.

Bananacracy is a persistent, satirical political life sim that runs entirely in your browser. Be a shopkeeper, a healthcare worker, a teacher, a factory worker, a transport worker, or a journalist — or climb the political ladder: win a seat, reach Parliament, join the cabinet, even run for the premiership. Anyone can bend the rules too — dabble in crime, and risk the police. Every player on a server shares one country — the same elections, the same laws — alongside hundreds to thousands of AI citizens who keep the world running while you're away. At season's end, the most remembered names enter the Hall of Fame.

CITIZEN

Live a life.

  • • Pick a profession — each reacts differently to every policy.
  • • Every tick pays your wages, charges your rent, and runs the market.
  • • Vote, sign petitions, or become a journalist and break scandals.
  • • 5-15 minutes/day is plenty. More if you want to follow politics closely.
POLITICIAN

Run for office.

  • • Council chair → town mayor → regional governor → national parliament (50 MPs) and cabinet.
  • • Campaign across your village, town, or region — citizens (players and AI alike) remember your promises.
  • • Propose laws. Watch the economy move. Face re-election on the results.
  • • 20-60 minutes/day if you want the top job.

The tick

Each tick — and your server sets the pace, from once a day on Alpha to four times a day on Beta — the country advances: wages paid, taxes collected, budgets spent, laws applied, elections resolved, news generated. Between ticks, it's all people — chat, speeches, articles, deals, betrayals, the usual.
